THE ANGEL OF LOVE

In the Roman version, Cupid was the son of Venus (goddess of love) and Mars (god of war), and in the Greek version he was the son of Aphrodite and was named Eros, the following story is almost identical in both cultures. He was often depicted with wings, a bow, and a quiver of arrows.
BEWARE of this little angel, my friends, he will be around St Valentine's Day to throw his arrows!! Will he point at the right hearts?

LIMERICKS

A limerick is a five-line poem with a strict form, originally popularized in English by Edward Lear. Limericks are frequently witty or humorous, and sometimes obscene with humorous intent. A limerick has five lines, with three metrical feet in the first, second, and fifth lines and two metrical feet in the third and fourth lines. The rhyme scheme is usually AABBA. The first line of a limerick traditionally introduces a person and a place, with the place appearing at the end of the first line and therefore establishing the rhyme scheme for the second and fifth lines.

A well-known example is:

Hickere, Dickere Dock,
A Mouse ran up the Clock,
The Clock Struck One,
The Mouse fell down,
And Hickere Dickere Dock.

WHEN A POET DIES... (BOOK DAY)

April 23rd is the INTERNATIONAL BOOK DAY because Shakespeare and Cervantes both died on that day in 1616. Later, in 1850, another writer died that same day, Wordsworth. So, if you are a writer or a similar, BE CAREFUL! This seems to be Tuesday 13th for Literature!!

WHAT IS SPRING?

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. ~ Charles Dickens.

No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow. ~ Proverb.

And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.
~ Percy Bysshe Shelley.

Spring is sooner recognized by plants than by men. ~ Chinese Proverb.

April hath put a spirit of youth in everything. ~ William Shakespeare.

"I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze."
- William Wordsworth.
